Oxytetracycline (hydrochloride) 200 mg.
Target species
Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs.
Indications
Treatment of the following infections caused by bacterial strains sensitive to oxytetracycline:
Bovine:
- Respiratory infections caused by Mannheimia haemolytica and Mycoplasma bovis.
- Podal infections caused by Dichelobacter nodosus, Fusobacterium necrophorum and Prevotella melaninogenicus.
- Genital infections caused by Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Fusobacterium necrophorum and Prevotella melaninogenicus.
- Mastitis caused by Streptoccoccus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli.
Sheep and goat:
- Foot infections caused by Dermatophilus congolensis, Prevotella melaninogenicus, Dichelobacter nodosus and Fusobacterium necrophorum.
- Genital infections and polyarthritis caused by Chlamydophila abortus.
- Mastitis caused by Mycoplasma agalactiae, Streptoccoccus agalactiae and Staphylococcus aureus.
Pigs:
- Respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mycoplasma hyopnemoniae.
- Postpartum dysgalaxy syndrome (PDS) caused by Staphylococcus spp., Streptoccoccus spp., E. coli and Klebsiella spp.
- Swine erysipelas caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.
Dosage and administration route
Intramuscular injection.
For all species: 20 mg oxytetracycline (hydrochloride)/kg b.w. (equivalent to 1 ml of medicine/10 kg b.w.) in a single dose.
Respect a maximum volume per injection point of:
- Cattle: 10 ml
- Sheep and goats: 3 ml
- Swine: 5 ml
Withdrawal period
Cattle: Meat: 28 days. Milk: 12 days (288 hours).
Sheep: Meat: 26 days. Milk: 12 days (288 hours).
Goat: Meat: 26 days. Milk: 12 days (288 hours).
Swine: 29 days.
